Facts about the solar system

Did you know that the sun’s core is 15 million degrees? And that sunspots are much cooler?
Did you know that the sun is a yellow dwarf star? And that red super giants are millions at times larger than the sun?
Did you know that all the planets squeezed together would fit in the sun 600 times?
Did you know that Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune are made out of gas?
Did you know that earth is 150 million kilometers away from the sun? It will take a Jumbo jet 17 years to get to the sun from earth!
Did you know that the closest star to earth is the Proxima Centauri? (not counting the sun) It’s four light years away. (one light year= 5880 billion miles)
Did you know that each time an object gets into a black hole, the black hole grows larger and stronger?
Did you know that on April 12, 1961, a cosmonaut named Yuri Gagarin was the first person to travel in space?
Did you know that light can travel 300,000 kilometers per hour?
